Maxxis Bighorn MT's

As those who know me, I'm really picky about tires....

I have absolutly fallen in love with the Maxxis bighorn tires however. I come from running BFG MT's (among several others in the past) and I'd run the Maxxis over the BFG's anyday. They clean really well in mud, and good in the rain and snow due to the siping. They perform extreamly well when aired down. I havn't put a ton of miles on them, but they seem to be wearing very well thus far. As far as noise goes, the noise on the street is very minimal compared to some tires with similar tread patterns.

I run them in the 35" flavor, and they are a 3 ply sidewall. Anything smaller will be a 2 ply sidewall (industry standard). It's nice to have the 3rd ply with the 35's as I can air down much lower if needed and not have to worry about sidewall damage.

Oh did I mention they are one of the best priced tires on the market as well? I'll be ordering a set of 33's for Rebecca's rig in the very near future.

Purchased a set of 33" for Rebecca's XJ and once again very very happy with our purchase. They have performed very well in the snow as well.

They are available in a 305/70/16 (33x12) or 285/75/16 (33x11) or 255/85/16 (33x10).

I know the crager soft 8's are available in a 4.5" BS.

That is where we ordered mine from.  You probably will need to call them or email them for pricing.  I think it was right around $650 shipped for 4 33" tires.  Don't quote me on that because Adam ordered them for my birthday, but it was close to that.  Not bad at all for what they are!!!  I highly recommend them.

Finally got to try out the Maxxis Bighorns the other day. I went everywhere that a rubicon with 35" BFG KM2 MT's did with no issues(I didn't rock krawl with him). Next time I will air down the tires see what happens. I am very impressed as was Roger (the guy w/ the ARB locked yellow Rubi) If your in the market for new tires, this is the way to go. They are by far the best bang for the buck. These wheels did not seem to slip a whole lot. It was very wet out. It was sprinkling rain or at least misting bout all day. Rock edges were no problem, mud holes in the wood trails were no problem. Logs were no issue. I believe Maxxis got it right with these tires. I hope the prices remain low compaired to the competition.

Thank you Adam for the recommendation!!
