To those who are camping...

If you would all bring some firewood if you have it at your availability; it is typically tradition to have a big cook-out on Saturday night after a day of wheeling.

I don't think we're going to have much room to bring any wood ourselves, so those of you who will have extra room if you wouldn't mind throwing in some wood if you have it that would be appricitive. Wood at the camp store isn't the cheapest...

Thanks!

I'm pissed over the situation but what do you do when the woman is the law and the bank. You go with it. So you all better get some good pics!

Law reads you can't haul it across STATE lines. I belive there are several of us who live in the same state as the Badlands who are coming.... yawn

NOt much of a loss she never really new the guy. She has to go out to settle all the financial aspect with her other sisters and brothers. Apparently she will be getting her 18 years worth of child support money or something of that sort.

Hi everyone, I am new to the boards, was pointed in this direction by Aci as another good source of information since I own an XJ now. I am really interested in going to this trip and trying to get some questions answered and also convince my wife it will be a good idea though she loves off roading so that should not be too terribly hard to do. The big thing as I am sure for everyone is the cost to get there and back, I am in Ft. Wayne so it should not be horrible for gas.

The other thing is I need to try and get some work done on my XJ before this weekend gets here. As it sets now it is basically stock. I have a 3" lift sitting in my living room to put on. I also have some noise issues in 4hi & 4lo. I have traced it to somewhere on the front axle housing or front axle internals. Had a friend climb under and he thinks it is the passenger side U Joint which I purchased the other day just needs put in. I also have the outer bearings for both sides just in case that will help or is part of the cause. If it is neither of these I think I am pretty well stuck on what to do. Anyway, I am going to try and get all the must's done and make it down with everyone. Will be good to meet everyone and actually see a trip that does not fall completely through.

PC 88XJ,

You can tell your wife that I will be there with our infant son. I am planning on riding along, but if Caleb is in a bad mood I may have to sit part of the day out at the campsite. She is more than welcome to come hang with me if she wants.

By the way, I am glad to know that we aren't the only ones who have the occasional Jeep part sitting in their living room! You are going to fit right in here!!!

welcome

I have received a few questions about camping, where we're camping, whats needed etc.

We will be setting up Camp at the Attica Family Campground at the entrance of the Badlands. We typically get a large spot, so feel free to join us.

If you want more info, pricing, etc you can visit their website here: http://www.atticacamping.com

Also, according to their website the new shower house is done. Let's just hope that the 3 year long project is really done and functional! evileye

yes adam, it is ACTUALLY done!

however, its gonna be WAY to small if its a crowded weekend. They should've built it 2-3 times bigger. I think there are 3 showers and 2 bathroom stalls. Pretty nice though.

Im sure we are gonna be the first to arrive since we are most likely leaving at 9 or 10am on friday. If its hot, were getting a site with electric so we can run fans. If its nice, look for us along the fence line. Red dodge with camper in bed, my truck and a giant WI4x4.com banner (was volunteered to advertise).

Well it is good to know someone else may have to sit out. We actually just found out she is pregnant again, three miscarriages so it will be up to the doctor about wheeling right now.

And yes, I have Jeep parts in the living room lol. I still have parts from the 10 or so cars I have worked on in the last year and a half setting around somewhere lol, mostly in the walk in, well look in, closet we have in our apartment.

If we are okayed to wheel I will probably be taking it pretty easy either way you look at it, don't want to go through the hell again, really not over the last one we went through and we were not really expecting it to happen again so soon for a few reasons but here we are looking down the road and it seems all we can do is see the road behind us no matter which way we turn. Anyway, that is probably TMI so I will go for now, oh idea and volunteers are welcome to put the gear on the XJ biggrin

So sorry to hear about the past miscarriages, but congratulations on the new pregnancy!!! Please let her know that she is more than welcome to hang out at camp. I may not be there the whole time, but I can promise you I will have to be some. And, if it is blistering hot then I will probably be there quite a bit. This is going to be an adventure for sure.

Wade, by "fence line" do you mean where we have camped before or way over along the fence where there are trees? If we could get under some shade I would really appreciate it. No matter what, thanks in advance for saving spots!

dont worry rebecca, i will get caleb approved spots.

Either gonna be where we were last time, in a electrical spot, or way the heck on the other end under the trees (if the misquitos are ok)
