well i bought my xj classic about 2 months ago and found this xj sport down the street from me. the sport is a 01 with 73k original miles and 1 owner. my classic has 138k. i like my classic better cause 1 its black (favorite color), 2 it has fog lights, and 3 painted bumpers and mouldings to match. the sport doesnt have the fog option so is it possible the wiring is there for the fogs and switch? Also, is there much difference between my 00xj classic and the 01 xj sport besides the options i mentioned?
The sport is the midline XJ. I have a 93 sport and it was not as fancy as a Laredo but it wasn't a no-name stripper either. ( the total stripper 2wd 4 cyl had no badging on it except for Jeep on the nose and Cherokee on the gate.) The only options mine has is automatic trans, roof rack, am/fm with cassette, A/C, off road style outlined white letter tires, 4wd and 6 cyl engine. I liked the fact that my bumpers were painted flat black because touching them up was easier(and cheaper) than repainting them body color. The only complaint I have about my sport is that the seats were pretty unsupportive compared to the Laredo seats. I have recently upgraded my interior to a laredo seat package and I love the way they wrap around me.
Classic... I dunno. For my 96 it has nice supportive seats (but the bolster is flattening out with age). Mine came with skidplates, d35 limited slip, NP 231, slushbox (dang!), foglights, and manual locks and windows. It also came with the plain 5 spoke silver Jeep 'steelies' and a fullsize spare.
