so i've got a 2001 XJ now, and i'm really wanting to get a keyless entry remote for it. the PO said that he had a chrysler dealer run the vin and it came back saying that it does have the transponder unit in the vehicle.
i'm just curious if anyone on here has ever dealt with this situation before on theirs. where is the best place to buy the remote and do you have to have the dealership program the remote for the 01's or is it user programmable???? i know that the older XJ's are user programmable, but i don't know about the newer ones.....
any info that you may have would be appreciated!!
thanks!

CURRENTLY: 2001 Cherokee Limited 4-dr, 33" Uniroyal Liberator A/Ts, 6-8" well built custom lift (sorry, i haven't measured yet).
SOLD: Project Rig: 87 Cherokee Pioneer 4dr. bone stock now. coming soon: 3" budget lift, go completely doorless and chop the rear cargo area out.
On the 97-01 models the key-less circuit board is inside the dome lamp assembly or the optional overhead console. The remotes are NOT user programmable, you need to take them to the dealership for programming.
