Locker choices???

I'm building my 96 XJ to be a 'Rubicon XJ' if they built one in 1996.  So far I have a 3.5" lift (new packs) on 31s, and swapped out the dana 35 for a stronger 8.25.

Sadly this thing is a peg leg.  It needs help.  Looking for a cable/air/wiring free locker or "limited slip that works better than the factory type", I've looked around and found the Detroit (Eaton) TrueTrac limited slip and the Richmond Powertrax.

I'm split between...
Detroit TruTrac
*silent on the street (better than the Powertrax)
*not a real locker
*supposedly 33" tires max (the worm gears are the weak link)
*no clutch material to wear out unlike other LSDs

Richmond Powertrax
*very good on the street (for locker standards)
*how bad is "driveline rubberbanding" and such?
*will it break the axles?
*~$50 cheaper

If I decide to stuff the dana 30 up front, I'll probably go Eaton/detroit truetrac for the milder manners.  This is just for out back.
Thanks
Matt

Are you totally opposed to a "lunchbox" locker? The others do have their benefit; but I honestly think the price difference is not worth the extra coin over a lunchbox style locker.

Hands down I'd recomend an Aussie locker.

No, not totally opposed to the lunchbox- I'd rather have one for easier install smile. I think the powertrax is, isn't it? I'm told they're smoother operating than the Aussie.  What all is out there for the XJ 8.25 axle (29 spline)?

Detroit doesn't seem to have any (they're supposedly the roughest), Lock-Right (powertrax lunchbox I think) doesn't have any, etc... seems that I should have stuck with the dana 35.ashamed Well, there is the Aussie.  I'll look into those.  Gotta save my pennies for wedding first... this relationship stuff is really taking a bite out of Jeepinghmm

EDIT: found some review where the Aussie is quieter than the powertrax.  Several reviews say they're all copies of each other for the most part... seems legit as they all seem to operate on the same basic physics.

EDIT: decided to go with an Aussie locker.  $200 less buy-in than the ones I mentioned, and no having to reset the gears meshing.  Made in Australia, which doesn't have any crazy human rights issues like China.  So I'm a happy guy.  Just gotta save those pennies!
