my currnt 3 inch sky jacker pack is so stiff, doesnt flex at all, and rides like S***.
ive talked to a couple people about the options for the rear.
heres what ive come up with. buy a new pack and keep stock shackle(going for 5/5.5 lift) get a smaller/shorter pack and get a shackle(rock krawler or teraflex?) bastard pack with stock shackle bastard pack with after market shackle
from what ive read a smaller pack and a shackle will ride and flex better than a new pack of the same height as the shackle and small pack?
I have looked at those in the past. Its just I have some 1/4 and 3/16 plate lying around and have a cheap hook up.
I had forgotten shocks, Mine suck. I plan on getting bilstiens 5150? The ones with the remote res. For all 4 just need the leafs before so I can measure

You are correct in using a smaller pack with a shackle will yeild a better ride and flex.
A shackle relocation box is a great idea if you can afford/have the knowledge to accomplish it. Another easy way to get a good shackle angle is to use a boomerang style shackle. Many manufactures offer these (JKS, RE, Rock Krawler, etc) and they help to improve the ride a lot.
If your wanting the 5-5.5" range I'd recomend going with a 3.5" leaf and a 1.5" shackle.
Also remember that springs (coil or leafs) are only a part of the equation to a good ride. Control arm angles, shackle, angles, and shocks are also a very key thing.
i talked to one of your techs online earlier to day, they were really helpful. i think i will go with a 3.5 pack and new shackles and the relocation box. new shocks are on the list but have to wait. (yay bilstiens 5150's )
I think that there are many things that you could do to help. You are on the right track though. The new leafs and shock will really help. You could probably sell the Skyjacker leafs and put that money towards new ones. They really aren't that expensive if you are buying just the leafs. Make sure that you get full packs though.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
the JKS crossmember has been one of the best things I've done to my Jeep. It allows a great amount of movement and stability. Its been a great investment.

i hadn't seen that before. looks like something to look into. BSfab did something along that line, just a bit more booty fab. still came out good though.
if i hadn't talked to you guys i would probably have had a new thread about shocks, lol.
i will address the leafs, and shocks when i do the 8.8, but is there any pros/cons to mounting the shocks on the same side?
