KY Outback Adventure is still closed.  I really do hope they open again, because I really wanted to get there.

Some other ideas for you that aren't too far

Harlan, KY

Natural Bridge, KY

Land Between the Lakes, KY

Slade, KY (supposedly closed recently, hopefully it will open again)

also a scenic trail ride in the Shawnee National Forest, IL is on my list for this year....hopefully

If you want more, I got a whole database of places to wheel in the US, that I am putting together.  Let me know what other states you are interested in

Redbird is cool. Haspen CAN be okay sometimes, just want a good trail leader and not mixed in with the fools who drink on the trail.

Haven't been to the Badlands in 3 years...however NAXJA Winterfest is there first weekend of March.

LBL is plain awesome! Good all around wheeling for all skill levels.

It's not a wheeling trip, but it might be fun to do some local car shows this summer. If we could get a bunch of XJs together and make our club known, it would be good exposure.

Just a thought...

Like the car show idea myself, used to show a 2 wheel drive Ranger low rider i had. Bourbon used to have a good show at the school ,Lonnie Berkey runs it. The NAPA store i work at has a show here (plymouth) in Sept for Shop with a Cop would love to see a bunch for that .

I took my jeep up to Silver Lake Dunes this summer and had a pretty good time. Also their are a lot of local trails in the area, some that can be pretty hardcore. I never really learned what was legal and what wasnt as far as what trails you can take the jeeps down. I guess all power lines in michigan are illegal to ride on which sucks because that was by far the best trail.

I go down to badlands 2 or 3 times a year but usually with bikes or quads. I havent taken the jeep their but I imagine it would be a good time.

Yes Michigan has a ton of trails in the northern part. Just be sure you know what is and isnt legal. The rule is, its closed unless posted open! When you get into the U.P. everything is open, unless posted closed. There are some decent trails around St. Helen, Mi, with a scramble area to play in. I think a fun trip would be to go up to drummond Island and hit the park there, Turtle Ridge. Drummond Island is a really nice wheeling destination (For Michigan), Its about 30 minutes or so from the bridge. There are also trails all over the island. Just dont have a group larger than 10 on the trails, or the DNR will require an event permit, that goes for all michigan trails. My opinion is that anything more than 5 rigs, is to much, so if there are 20 rigs, run 4 groups, 15=3 groups, you get the idea. The more rigs the longer it takes, to recover, and get thru obsticles. Anyways, this is just a thought! Sorry for the long post.

Thats right in the area where I go snowmobiling, I would love to take a tour of it in the jeep. Do you need the ORV sticker AND the park sticker for drummond?

You just need an ORV sticker, Turtle Ridge is a private offroad park, with rocks, mud, and some other good stuff. There is an entrance fee for the ORV park. Drummond is one BIG rock, so expect lots of rockage (?) while there.
