Got the lift In, question

Finally got my lift put in last week. Rides great, jeep looks a ton better. However, it's not quite level, the front needs to go up probably another inch. What's the best way to do it?

Still haven't dropped the transfer case, made some brackets, but I took it for a drive, and only a slight vibration from 45-47. I was worse before b/c of out of balance tire. Also need to do something about the track bar, but haven't decided between drop bracket, or an adjustable bar. Need to get the front lifted/ re-aligned first.

any ideas?

You can buy inexpensive spacers for the front to level it out.  If you are deciding between spacers and alignment I would go with the alignment.  I don't think that it will hurt anything to be a little lower in the front.  If you don't get an alignement you will start to chew your tires and then you will have to put more money into that.  My 2 cents.

Looks good.

Man I miss those rims... cry

As Andy said, a spacer would do the trick. It's not uncommon to have the rear a little higher (most out-of-the-box lifts are like that). I don't think your pics look bad though, looks identical to what it looked like on Rebecca's old XJ. None the less a set of spacers would easily fix the problem.

As far as the tracbar goes, a drop bracket is an easy cheap fix. I ran (well it's still on it for the moment untill I get the new tracbar in that I've been waiting on) a drop bracket on my XJ for almost 3 years now without any issues. An adjustable trac-bar is the "end-all" fix however but are more expensive. I'd highly recomend if you do go adjustable trac-bar do not get a cheap unit (RE1600 or Rough Country) as they will just give you problems. Go with the RE1660 or the TNT setup. I know more money but definatly worth it so you don't have to buy another one 2 years down the road....

Looks good Casey!!! I know you are going to love that lift! The ride is so dang smooth...

As far as back vs. front being higher... I don't think it looks bad the way it sits. It did sit that way on mine too. But, you can always add a spacer if you want. Still, it looks really nice!

And yeah, like Lead said, "I miss those rims". biggrin.gif

Something else to keep in mind, the rear might settle down a little bit after wheeling and driving it for a while.  So it might level itself.

thanks guys, sorry about the rims.

It really doesn't look to bad, but the fronts are just too close to the back of the wheel well (and are rubbing when turning, even after some quick work with the sawzall), about another inch of lift should make a big difference in clearance.

Interested in selling that drop bracket? or is it going on another project....

now for some spacers, so I can get it aligned.

Who sells just the spacers? Was looking around a bit, and for some reason was having a tough time finding them....

He's got Rebecca's old lift, so I doubt it's going to "settle" since it's been on another XJ for quite some time...

Ohhh, I was going to ask what lift he put on; guess that answers that.

Yeah I'd sell it, once I get my new setup on. I've still got to get some parts before I do it however. So it's going to be a few months. I think I may actually have a new in box one laying around as well. I'd have to double check.

I do have a set of used Daystar 3/4" spacers as well. I guess for the right offer I'd sell them as well.

If your looking for new, PM one of the vendor's that supports us and I'm sure they can help you out.
