Looks for thoughts/opinions on if I should go with a C02 tank or a full onboard air setup (compressor/tank) in my rig. I've decided I want some form of air available.
It looks like I'll have right around $400 in each setup, so looking for info on why 1 would be better than the other.
Looking for pro's/cons of each setup.

Why $400? Just curious because MotionOffroad sells their CO2 tank for like $160. You would need to get the hose and airchuck, but together those shouldn't run you more than $15-$20.
I personally think the CO2 tank is a nice option because it is less expensive and it can be "mobile" if needed. Basically you aren't limited by hose length or anything. And it is still strong enough to run air tools with.
As Rebecca stated, the C02 tank can be had for much less than $400. I personally run the Motion Offroad one and have been very happy with it.
With the C02 tank you can have it "mobile" as stated above. It's definatly nice if you wheel more than 1 rig (like I do) or if someone on the trail needs air and your not right beside them. It's also nice if you need to take it somewhere (example: took it out of rig to air up bike tires). Only downside I can see is that it does cost to have it filled up, I think I pay less than $10 a tank locally to have it filled.
With the onboard air, your looking at a lot more money to have a nice setup. It takes up a lot more room and is not mobile. Only major benifit I can think of is the fact your air is pritty much endless and only have the upfront cost.
I went with the C02 tank simply for the fact it seemed to have more pro's over the onboard air setup. Not to mention it can be had for a LOT less. Figured it would take me 5+ years of using the C02 tank regularly (like every wheeling event, which I really don't use it) to match the cost of the onboard air.
I am thinking about getting some on baord air sometime in the future and I have almost completely ruled out a compressor because of all the reasons stated above. I just don't think that the benefit of having endless air out weighs all the benefits of a Co2 tank.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
I guess I didn't realize that the C02 tanks could be had for less than $200. Anyone run the Motion Offroad setup? Are they as good as the high end units?
