- 1993 Sport - 3.5" Rubicon Express Superflex w/Full Packs - 31" Tires with no trimming - Sits at 4" Front and 4.5" Rear - Kit consists of 3.5" Front Coils, 3.5" Rear Leafs, Lower Control Arms, Bumpstops, Quick Disco's, and Rear Brakeline. - We've upgraded to the Heavy Duty Tracbar/Bracket and added the Tracbar Brace as well. We've also added the Chromoly TieRod. - Can't go wrong with RE products...
I've had 2 different lifts on my XJ, so I'll post about each one.
Lift #1
- 1989 Laredo - 4.5" Rough Country w/AAL - 31" BFG MT's - Sat at the 4.5" as advertised - Lift consist of 4.5" Front Coils, Rear Add-a-Leaf, Lower Control Arms, Tracbar Relocation Bracket. - I was one of the 1st one's to run the RC lift. At the time they only were available in an AAL in the rear. I'd highly recomend upgrading to full new leaf packs as the rear sagged quite fast, as they are now available with new full packs. I'd also upgrade to some sort of adjustable tracbar as I did have a bad bumpsteer problem associated with the tracbar relocation bracket. The bushings in the control arms were poly and squeaked bad as well. - It's not a bad kit for the money, but if I was to do it over again I'd of went with someone else (thus why I have another lift now).
- 1989 Laredo - 5" Hybrid Lift - 35" Tires with minor trimming - Lift consist of 5" front coils, Custom Rear Leafs with RE Boomerang Shackles, Rubicon Express Superflex Upper and Lower Control Arms, Motion Offroad Tierod, Rubicon Express Heavy Duty Tracbar/Bracket, Old Man Emu Shocks, and Rubicon Express Gen 2 Quick Disco's. - I built this lift buying parts I wanted. I have it sitting at the height I want, and the suspension works VERY well. I feel very stable on the trails and on the road. It makes all the difference buying quality parts as compaired to the lift I had above.
- 1988 Comanche Pioneer Shortbed - 6.5" Hybrid Lift (base that the Motion Offroad kit was built around) - 35" Tires - Lift consist of 6.5" Front Coils, Upper and Lower Control arms (have longarms from the kit, just not installed yet), Motion Offroad Rear SOA perches w/stock 4wd leafs, Front Bumpstops, Rubicon Express Heavy Duty Adjustable Tracbar w/Brace. - At this height I'd highly recomend going to longarms. I have them just not installed yet. Also at this height you need to address your steering system. I'll be going to the Motion Offroad cross-over setup here very shortly. I'm also running shocks for a 4.5" lift and they are my limiting factor right now. This kit is VERY flexly so make sure you have longtravel shocks to get max articulation. - Overall a very nice kit. As I stated prior my MJ was the test bed for the Motion Offroad kit so I'm not running the full kit quite yet. I've got a few things to address yet (steering setup, longarms, and new shocks), but I've very happy with the way it performs on the trails. I clear the 35's without any issues.
Year: 1996 XJ Country, factory skidplate packagae and limited slip Lift Manufacaturer: Rusty's Advertised Height: 2" Actual Height: I'd say about 2" Pros: cheap (less than $120 new shipped from someone who never installed it), easy to install. Cons: didn't come with shocks, but I love my bilsteins... I needed a new tracbar anyways so I went to JKS and dropped about $220 there for a HD adjustable unit for 2-3.5" lifts and got a really big box a few days later. Rear rides slightly stiffer than stock, but it's a Jeep! I don't mind. Mild rattles in the dash at certain speeds from driveline vibes caused by the (gotta love 'em) later tcases get on my nerves though. I need wedges Short description of what the kit consists of: 2' coil spacers, add-a-leaf Additional Info: I'd recommend it for anyone. Living in the rust belt, get new u-bolts, with the surface rust on them they took forever to remove and reinstall. Pics: I'm feelin lazy so no pics right now.

89 Comanche Eliminator pieced together my lift. mostly consists of rustys stuff front: 6.5in rustys coils, rustys adj lower ca's, homemade uppers, superlift adj tracbar, superlift shocks. rear: was rustys 4.5in sua leafs, now i am SOA with 2wd leafs, superlift shocks. running 33x10.5 BFG Mud T/A pros: good flexing in front, good on road riding, relativly cheap to piece together. cons: not long arm(maybe in future), rear didn't flex as good as front did. after 1 year, i broke a lower leaf on the pass. side pack (rustys is sending that leaf for free)
Year: 1999 Lift Manufacaturer: I have 3" rusty's coils with 2" spacers up front. In the rear I have 3" AAL's from rusty's with extended shackles (not sure how big). Advertised Height: 5" in the front, a little less in the rear. Actual Height: Not sure Pros: Inexpensive way to get the lift that you want. Rides 10x's better then the 3" rough country lift that I put on my other XJ. Cons: In the front not as many cons as the rear. It isn't level, although it is close enough that I don't care. It is not the way that I would have done the lift if I had put it on. The AAL and extended shackles are the only thing giving lift to the rear. Short description of what the kit consists of: Already covered Additional Info: I plan on putting 5-6" full leafs in the rear some time, not as worried about the front though. I have cut the fenders as well. I have only cut the fenders up to the last lip that sticks out of the fender. So that might add 1" or so. Pics:

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
1999 Cherokee sport 4.5 inch Rough Counrty Lift Sysytem 32'' x 11.50 Pro Comp tires Nov. 7 th has been a year since lift was installed, so goo so far. Wish it was a little smoother.
92 XJ 3 RC lift with AAL. After a year the back was saging. Put a 2 inch block in the back. Trim the fenders and have BFG 32/11.50/15 on it. Rides ok. I like the looks of it.
So bad pics but you get the idea.
