Hypertech Programer

Does anybody have one of these, I would love to use it too,
Fix my Speed O right and gear shifting times right, If i understand it right,  Just put in the new size of tires you are running and it adjust it all.
I dont want to spen over $ 300.00 for a 1 time use.

Why don't you just get a new gear for the TC.  That is what I did.

I used this chart at the bottom of the link:
http://jeepin.com/features/speedogear/index.asp

I know that I have either a 31 or 32 tooth one in mine right now.  I am still a little off, so I will be buying a new one here shortly if you want my old one.  Mine still reads about 5 mph slow.

It was $12 from the jeep stealership.  But like I said you can have mine for the cost of shiping if you would like, bc the wifey is not happy that it still is off a little.

Well i seen irt somewhere, I think 4WD Hardware. It says you can adjust it for when you put on bigger tires to set speed O and shift points.
I went to the web site to get a pic of it, But i could not find it.

usually, they're tied to the vehicle vin. To use on another vehicle you have to roll the programming back to stock, then it will unlock the unit. That way you have to buy one to use one.

The DME in the ECU is not programable in the XJ's. So anything that is like this is a "piggyback" setup.

For the money you can do several other things that will give you much better HP gains and gas milage.

The speedo is set by the gear in the transfercase. So I call BS on the Hypertech unit being able to change a mechanical driven speedo... evileye
