Got the new cam in tonight and it wouldn't start. It would however shoot flames out of the throttle body when cranking. So I figured I had the timing 180 degrees off. Then i took it back apart, rotated crank one turn and re-assembled. NO CHANGE Still shoots flames. What is the problem?? What should I triple check? I'm losing my mind. If I can get my camera up and running I'll get some sweet video of it. __________________ 1988 XJ Base, 4Dr, 4.0L, 5-Speed, Dynomax exhaust, 4.5"ish lift, 305/70/17's, RR's, and a cracked windshield. 281k mi. one turn as in 180 or 360? A crankshaft does 4 revolutions for 1 cam revolution. __________________ My Fleet 1996 XJ "Snowball"- 3.5" lift, bunch of little mods. The problem was that we had the dizzy installed 180 off. As soon as I rotated that she fired right up.
