Rightside tierod/draglink question

I noticed a very slight up and down movement in the rightside TRE.  I guess it could be called the draglink too.  It has no replacable TRE.  I'm thinking about going ahead and replacing this before Feburary.  Question I have is, I'm sure the TRE comes up from the bottom of the steering knuckle, but everywhere I go to look for a replacement shows the part with the TRE pointing downward.  Am I on drugs???weirdface

id look at this as a time to upgrade the stock steering system. heres a link to a cross over steering system that will greatly improve ur steering system. 250 isnt bad for a solid steering system

Are you talking the TRE on the pass. side knuckle that's part of the draglink? If so you have to replace the entire draglink as it's all 1 peice.

If your talking about the TRE on the tierod that connects to the draglink (about 1/3 of the way up), than yes it's replaceable.

Yep, the rightside draglink, and yes I know I need to whole thing. My main concern is the pic's I've seen of the draglink part always show the TRE on the knuckle end pointing down, and while I can't look at mine right now {*&$(#$@} I know it mounts from the bottom of the knuckle.

I guess they always show it that way when they are just showing the draglink itself.

No XJ/MJ ever had the TRE on the top of the knuckle from the factory. So I'm going to almost say 99.5% of the available one's mount under the knuckle just like the factory one did unless it's aftermarket and states OTK (over the knuckle).

Pics on places like autozone/nopa-online/etc. usually are not correct; you should never reply on them for reference.
