I'm wanting to know if the TC has a serial number that might be listed in the vehicle build sheet... anywhere?
Here's my dilema, I removed the front DS the other day to see if it might be the cause of my vibration/noise. It wasn't, the u-joints are fine, and it hasn't thrown any weights. What I DID see was the TC in my Jeep is NOT the one that was in it BEFORE the dealer rebuilt it. The tail shaft cone is entirely different, and there is a small metal mounting bracket attached to one of the case bolts that was NOT there before. As anal as I am I would have removed it long ago, as it is not attached to anything.
Thsi question is not technical, so if I am out of line asking it here let me know Adam. I had several pic's of the RE H&T I took awhile back and had posted up on another fourm, and I thought here too. I had them on PhotoBucket, but recently I deleted them. Is there anyone here that might have saved them for some crazy reason? Is there anyway PhotoBucket can retrieve them for me. They showed the TC and the H&T. I REALLY would like to have a copy to take to the dealer on Monday.
The TC should have a build number on it (or serial number if you want to call it that). However I don't belive that there is any relation between that number and your vin number.
On a side note; we do archive everything here. I did find your post however since your photo was hotlinkd' to your photobucket account I have no way or retriving that photo.
I tried to see if any archive's online had it saved as well from cache but to no luck. If you know the URL of the other post on another forum you can try to use www.archive.org to see if they by chance archived your photo's.
