Another toy

Okay now my dad wants a jeep, go figure after finally sell my cj5.  Here is what "we" are looking for:

cheap - around $1000
motor size - dont matter as long as it runs
preferred auto tranny
top and a working heater
title

Vehicle choices
any year willys jeep - not pickup or delivery version
the old yota jeeps
CJ5 / CJ7/ YJ
77 or older bronco
scout

Solid or usable frame, body not a critical concern - rust / damage as long as its driveable.  Now the part I hate, but its for my dad - he wants something non-lifted since he is old and short......  If you see something around give me a shout - thanks.

Just saw your XJ on greatlakes 4x4.  I tried talking my dad into something like that but he said nope......  I am now also debating either an old M37 or M715.

You should get a M151.  I have a friend that has an M151 with a M60 mounted on the top.  It is in the war portion of the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum.  He also has a couple of Dueces and other old war jeeps on show there.  Him and his brother used to restore them when we were in high school.

On homecoming, each day had a different theme to dress up to.  On Army day he got in some trouble bringing the M151 with a M60 mounted on top.  The M60 barrel is full of cement but they didn't care about that....   He won the best outfit compitition though just had to take the 151 home.  haha.

Well got 3 jeeps to look at this week.  For some reason I like the 70 cj5 I found for him.  Has a small lift 3" and 32" tires, dauntless v6, 3spd, fiberglass body, frame looks mint for $1500 obo.  Need wipers and weatherstripping added to body - so the owner says that's all it needs.

The other two cj7s are tempting but neither is in as good as shape as the 5 is.  So I'll see, and if anyone sees anything let me know.  Hey Ben I looked online at that 7 in the auto trader - I may call them Tue too, just to see what's what.
