Part Numbers- no fuel pump assembly for me!

So... I work at advance auto parts, and they sell airtex fuel pumps.

I've researched them and they seem to be a good company, and would like to go with them, partially since I get my employee discount.

Well, according to the computers, they don't have what I need (the whole assembly as the little nub the fuel line attaches to is rusted away)bleh.  Wranglers weren't made in 1996 either, according to the computer.confuse

I checked Napa's website, and ditto.

Napa has everything, and gave me discounts as well.

Online I did some searching at the mega-online-parts stores like rockauto.com and none.

They have the little electric pump part, the tank o-ring, and a new 'sock' but no whole entire big ol fat assembly that looks like the international space station.  See pic.

There's pics of what can be seen of my fuel pump and the appropriate connectors in my fuel pump how-to thread CLICK HERE.

So... I don't know if one from an OBD1 (1991-1995) XJ would work, or a later OBD2 unit would work (1997-2002); as for wiring connections and number of lines going to the pump (some have two for emission purposes and sometimes it's a return type f.i. system).

If anyone knows what I'm supposed to do, or any PNs, let me know.
Thanks,
-Matt

/\ doesn't it look weird?  Is it the ISS?  Sculpture of random objects created by drunk person?  Nope, just a fuel pump.

edit: I contacted my local dealer (I used to work there when it was just a dodge dealer in HS) and hopefully they'll have something.

well its the fuel pump module. 96 is a weird year and i did some searching but i think your best bet is to grab a junkyard one.

I was thinking about that... downside is here in MI they're probably quite rusty like the one I'm replacing (which works great, but the hose connection is rusted off).

I was looking at the fuel pump module for the older XJs and they have 2 hose connections. I'm wondering if that'll work if I cap off the connection not used. Then I wonder about the wiring connectors. I'll have to take a peek under my XJ and see what I can come up with.

edit: I've been told that the OEM supplier is bosch, and I'll check out their website, and see what I can scrape up.

Wranglers weren't actually made in 96.

Really? That is weird... must've taken a while to switch over from YJ to TJ.

They were made, just not sold as a '96 model. They ran the '95 models out into '96 (YJ) to get rid of all the old stock, than released the '97 (TJ) about 3 months ealier than the normal '97 release dates. The BMV wouldn't let them sell the YJ as a '96 since the build dates were out of the allowed time frame.
