Work on the HP axle finally begins

It finally warmed up enough to get out in the garage to start welding the braces on my HP axle.  It took awhile to get used to my new mig welder, and I had never used fluxcore wire before either.  After playing with the wire feed rate it does ok.  Next will be the tube brace, and some LCA skids.biggrin

Since I see there is a Winterfest at Haspin in February, and it was 45* today I figured I'd better get going on this.

Things are moving along...slowly.  The weather is supposed to turn crappy this weekend (cold).  Bummer.bleh  I'm sick of winter, deer season is over so it can warm up again.

Still not happy with the fluxcore wire, evileye but it isn't going to come off.smile  I'm trying to get everything done for Haspin in February.

Looking good.  How warm does it need to be?

Well... the auto darkening welding helmet is not supposed to "work" below 30*. That is the main reason I'm complaining about the cold. I don't suddenly want to get flashed.

The other reason is....IT'S COLD!!!smile.gif
