i need to replace the stock sway bar bushing but there are several sizes available. How do I tell which one i need? It's for a 2000 XJ Classic if that helps __________________

I went through that pain in the but myself. I just took my sway bar off, Cleaned it up, Painted it.
then took it to the Auto Part's store and had them measure it to get the right one's.
Unless you have a MIC, Or a gauge of some sort's. I have a post on here some where i think about it when i did it. i think they are 21 or 22 mm. Not sure.

You'll go crazy just guessing. No rhym or reason to what size it is.
