Speedometer reading high

I have a 91 comanche 4.0 AX15. I put a 6.5 in lift on it and SOA in the rear. My speedometer is reading really fast. i think about 20 mph off. i would expect this with bigger tires, but i still have stocks on right now. Not sure if it was off before i put the lift on.  where should i start?

Pull the speedo gear out of the TC and count how many tetth are on it. If it has the correct amount of teeth with your tire size than the issue is somewhere else.

Here is a link of how to get to it to remove it (very easy).
