Im going to go ahead and post my stroker build here in the tech section cuz im sure to have a few tech questions along the way...well a load of tech questions
Here are some pics
First Tech Question
When I put on the new valve cover i just put on the rubber gasket and hand tightened the screws down. Ive read some places where its good to put sealant on both sides of the gasket, others say dont put anything on the gasket.
second, is there a certain pattern to tighten down the valve cover with?
lol... just had to mention it for those who missed it. I'm being silly.
Well, info on the long block, header, etc....
As for the valve cover gasket, I've heard both. I do believe that there IS a pattern (start in the center and go across, just like lug nuts on a wheel) and I think torque them to about 15 ft lbs ('snug' with a 3/8" ratchet) will do... I think there might be a service manual with these specs in the tech page off the main GLXJ page that Adam has. I'm sure that they have torque specs and stuff in far greater detail there.

it's right at the top.

In the manual for a 1999 it says to not use gasket maker. All the info you want is in Section 9 page 76. I can copy it if you want but it would be easier for me if you just looked it up, and there is tons of useful stuff with picks in that for ya.
