Alternator Amps

How do I know how many amps my alternator is rated for?

the stock ones are pretty weak- I've seen threads over at a great big xj site that explains different options for them- one guy used an alt. from a durango or something.

ya you can use a durango alt.  but you have to grind a section off of it to make it fit.  I think it is very easy.
