i kno quadratec sells replacement springs for like 75$ or you could get the heavy duty ones that give u an inch or two of lift for 95$ im planning on going that route because i use the jeep to tow from time to time
x2 on that one. I also would get the ones that are just 1 inch higher. That would not change much but give you a little more room to work with. Plus a 1-2 inch lifted Xj will look how they SHOULD have looked when coming from the factory.
With that 1-2 lift you shouldn't have to change shocks or anything, although if your leafs are hurting, if your shock are the original ones, they are probably hurting too. If money is a problem then don't worry about it because it is not going to ride any worse than it is now when you replace the leafs.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
another idea was a bastard pack rear to get some lift with a stiffer rear ride. i was looking into using rock lizard's idea of usiing a stock xj pack to give 2ish inches of lift. here is a link to it http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/home_brew_budget_boost.htm you can find xj packs cheap at the junk yard. or i was told that if you goto a 4wd shop they might have an old set of xj springs laying around that they will sell dirt cheap or give them to you for cleaning shop
I've got the set of stock leaf springs off my 2000. They had around 70,000 miles on them when I took them off. As far as I could tell there was no sag, and the Jeep set level.
Probably will actually being going with the Quadratec springs when money allots but I'm pretty sure I need some engine/tranny mounts and brakes, so that's going to take precedent. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to fix the front end up first either, but hey that's cosmetics and it still goes down the road even if it's ugly!
