LeBaron hood vents installed

I received my set of hood vents yesterday and wasted no time getting them installed.  It took about 2.5 hours to have them in the hood.  I laid them out 5" from the rear edge of the hood, and 1" from the breaklines on each side of the center of the hood.  I measured and remeasured SEVERAL times before drilling the first hole.  After that there was no turning back.

I fabed up a set of clamping brackets to attach them to the hood.  They are 1.5" long aluminum angle with one "leg" cut down to 3/8".  On that edge I put a piece of door edge moulding on to pad it where it contacted the hood.  Only thing left to do is fab up a set of drip pans to protect the stuff under the hood.

Driving, and especially sitting in traffic I can see the excess heat escaping from under the hood, so it is a worthwile modification IMO.

Here it is BEFORE any cutting.  Pretty tape huh?

Here is after cutting the holes, and cleaning up the edges.

Here it is after mounting the vents in the hood.

Well it looks better in the picture than it really is.  There are quite a few nicks, and stains in the paint.cry  But I suppose for a 9 year old Jeep it isn't THAT bad.smile

Aaron, I've sent you a PM.
