New trans cooler

So last winter I got a great deal on a china man charlie radiator from e-bay. It was aluminum, double wide single row(G-core) and was guaranteed to cool my vehicle or my money back. I paid $67 with free shipping.....sold! So I get it in and I noticed when I started driving it agiain in spring that trans fluid was getting pretty dark in less than 3 months so I changed it and three months later it was dark again. I went on a trip for 120 miles in June and when I stopped for gas I felt the trans fluid and it was so hot the dipstick burned my finger! Upon returning home I discovered (by using a boroscope) that my trans cooler was just a pass thru tube and had no real cooling ability at all.  I ended up buying an air to liquid cooler and bypassing my radiator all together. I mounted it on the side of my mechanical fan so it always had some flow across it. ( I have a HD fan clutch and a 7 blade fan.Its part of the desert protection package as I got my XJ when I lived in Phoenix.)
Last weekend when I went wheeling I was concerned about the fluid getting too hot so after a few obstacles I would check the temp with my finger on the fluid from the dipstick. Not only was it still very red from when I did this last July but the fluid was maybe 110 degrees possibly more. I was very impressed.  This is the largest cooler you can fit in front of your grill I believe its 9 inches tall by 15 inches long. I will say it works well...very well.
