I added a ZJ V8 Tierod to my XJ. It is much beefier that the stock unit. The only downside is the slight downward bend. The guy who pulled it off the ZJ used a ball joint fork(or whatever those things are) and ruined the stock TRE boots, so I had to buy so replacements. You have to cut the old ones off like I did if they are torn. Do not used a fork to wedge the TRE out of the knuckle, just back the nut off to protect your threads and pound it off with a hammer. I did not adjust the ZJ bar for my XJ but I may find out that its needed. I drove the jeep around the block and the steering seemed a little more solid, but that could be in my head. I atleast like the look of it in there and the peace of mind it provides. Its no solid super HD tierod, but for the $30 I paid its good for now.
