I'm pulling my front axle on a 96 XJ. I have every bolt out but the DS lca bolt . The nut is off but I can't get the bolt out. There is play but it's like the bolt is welded to the bushing? Does anyone know how to remove this bolt? I even tried heating the bushing but it won't let go. By the way, I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. I'm Troy and could really use your help. Thanks very much for any replies.
Welcome to the site, Troy. Good to see you on here.
Sounds like the sleeve inside the bushing has attached itself the the bolt. I had the same problem on the rear of my XJ and ended up cutting the bolt. Not sure if that is the solution to want to here, but it is what worked for me. I found new ones on the teamcherokee.com

Thanks man! Worked like a charm. I cut the bolt and pulled it today. Now does anyone know if I have to use an XJ axle or would any other Jeep axles work? Also what year and make could I get? I'm looking for 4.10 gears. I already have a 8.25 that I bought with 4.10s and a locker. Thanks again!

An axle from a TJ will work, bolts right up. I believe you need to look for one out of a 4 cyl. One from a ZJ should work, but I don't know if there is one with 4.10s. One thing to consider is the cost of an axle with 4.10s. One place I asked told me $800 for a XJ/TJ D30 w/ 4.10s .... f that. I could regear for $300-$400 with labor.
Dang! Snatch that up. The place I was talking about sells jeep parts only and is quite steep on their prices. Now, start a build thread with pics troy! It would be sweet to track your progress.
