so i get really annoyed with dust, rain, snow, etc whipping down from the roof and onto the back window... as i'm sure you all do as well.  has anyone come up with a solution to this annoyance???  i'm not having much luck finding anything online yet.

i did find this style  http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/xj-roof-spoiler-1096023/

but i think i'm wanting something with a gap between the hatch and the spoiler so it catches air and blows it down across the window and keeps it cleaner.

any ideas people????????

I've always found the rear wiper/sprayer to do the job just fine...

 

With that said I've only seen the Orvis (euro spec one as shown below) for the 97+ models. I've seen some for the older models (shown in pic below), but due to the fact that the hatches are different I'm not sure it would work on your 97+ hatch.

no actually i want this for my black 96 since it's my daily. yeah i know, my wiper/spray works just fine, but i'd have to use it way less often if i had the spoiler...

I'd go for it if the dirt bothered me...

if you're on a shoestring then look for one on the back of a station wagon at some pik-a-part. No gurantees on it fitting with the design of the XJ though.

yeah i think instead of fiddling with all that, i am going a different route. gonna get some glass stripper and clean the back window really well and then apply a good helping of Aquapel to it!!

if you don't know what Aquapel is, check this out....

I scored a spoiler today from an XJ in my local junkyard! $10! Pretty sure it's factory. Fits like a glove on mine. Thinking about stripping the paint off and polishing the aluminum out to match my wheels..... What do you think? Polish it out or put a new coat of satin black on it?

Polish it and see how it looks.  If you don't like it you can always paint it black...

yeah i just ended up sanding a little, shooting a coat of primer and 3 coats of semigloss black. too much work to strip it and polish it out. lol
