Spoke to AJ about his rails looking at The Super Rails and the Square Super rails hes has them available in 1/8" now and can have them in 3/16" in a week or two. Whats your guys opinion.
I'm looking at both the JCR and AJ's ,thinking the 1/8" will be fine for me as well spoke to AJ he seems to think so. JCR is however only about an hour from me so they said i could pick them up and save the freight, works out about the same price. I do like the square myself.

Depending on WHEN you're planning to get a set, we might need to talk!
i have seen 1/8" rails bend pretty badly.....but if you don;t plan on a lot of rocks, then you can probably get away with 1/8"
The 1/8" you have seen bent are these AJ's?
Thinking the Square Super Rail ,design wise they should be stronger i believe. Would be great help getting things off the roof rack and steps for my daughter to get in and out.

Those are good points, Jeff. If you feel the steps would help out, go with them. Either one is going to look good.
I can't imagine the 1/8" getting to damaged unless you are hard core rock crawling. I can't see how something that thick would get damaged by anything around here.

AJ makes good stuff, and reading back thru that NAXJA thread....you can pick up some good points and
toss the rest of in the dumpster. In that thread AJ points out design & engineering......A+. If a part is mis-
engineered its going to fail, period........I have yet to have a set of ours returned or brought to my attention
that someones bent them......we use 1/8" wall 2x3 tube for both XJ & MJ & soon ZJ.......but our system is
totally different......and that must be kept in perspective.
Home brewed rails, people who build them & the internet.........I suspect the picture of the guy with the bent rails made his own rails? This is where things get silly........does anyone know his skill level as a welder....did anyone see the condition of the steel he used......was it new........how were the 3 outriggers attatched to the unibody........what were those made of.....what was the condition of his rockers????? Thanks to the internet and possibly 1 guy who trashed some possibly home brewed rails......1/8" is getting a bad wrap......I do agree 3/16" has its place......but I wonder how sometimes bad information starts.
Mark ,thanks for the info, Other people might have bashed another product in hopes of selling there own, I'm glad your a standup guy and didnt do that. At the moment I'm going to have to put my rails on hold. Was wondering i love the design of your rails with the stiffners but how come no basic rails for us guys that dont ,as you put it "beat the snot out of tere truck".
Thanks
