Well I finally got some pics of my XJ and whats new. I put in my CB about a week ago and I was wondering where everyone else put theirs. I am yet to see someone mount their's where mine is. This could be helpful to some fellow XJer's. Here is mine: its a Corba 19 series I forget which one
i couldnt get the images to show up help please
Fixed pics for you. -Adam

When i first put mine in, i had it between the visors didnt really like it there. My cobra has a weather band so it is a larger unit ,think it would have been better there if it were a smaller CB.
I moved it to under the glove box just to the right of the trans hump. Works good there.

Sorry about the double post... darn browser is being wierd... Admin please feel free to delete the second one.
Aci4369m I would love to see how yours looks on the drivers side... Do you hit you knees on it?
I am not going to say that I don't hit my knees on it because I think that I did one time, but if I did it was only once, and I think it was when I was jumping in really fast or something. Otherwise I don't even notice it being there. You can see in the pics that there is room between my knee and the CB. All of the pics were taken with my foot on the gas petal, so that is how close/far it is while driving. I am 6 foot tall so a smaller person might have more room. Also you have to consider how far back/close the seat it too. Someone else might not have the seat back as far and therefore hit their knee on it. What I did to make sure that it would be alright was I had a buddy hold it up and then I got in and got comfortable to make sure that my leg wouldn't hit. Here are the pics:
I have the same model as bigsix and lazarus... haven't mounted it yet, but thinking of having mic mounted in that blank area above the ciggy lighter, or on the panel below the rear wiper switch... or with a visual aid I'll steal Rebecca's picture and it'd be just above the 'brains' of her cb.
...also been thinking of getting into ham, since there's less crap; probably due to license requirements and range is usually better as well.
