Just a FYI, the Napa 280 U-Joints (used to be spicer) are no longer made by spicer. They come in a Napa box and are made in Japan. I know Kim was planning on ordering them as well, just wanted to give you a heads up.
I didn't know how these compaired to the spicer one's, so I opted to pass on them for now. Anyone know of a good online retailer to get spicer ones at?
Did you get an actual 280 or did they get you the NAPA 210280. Cause the super joint 280 is in a Precision box not a NAPA box. The NAPA boxed ujoints are cheap and suck , NAPA ujoints were never made by spicer. We carried spicer brand besides precision.

Well I don't know. I told them spicer 280's and they made the order for me. When I was thier today they were definatly in a Napa box and the u-joint itself had "Japan" stamped on them. He showed me a part number on the box, and than in the lower right corner it had "(280) on it. The guy said that they used to carry spicer but no longer do. Is that true or not?
Non the less, I passed on them as I didn't want anything but spicer. I guess I'll have to find an alternative source?
Oh yeah, the box had "HEAVY DUTY" on it or something as well. Looked like a land rover or something on the front on the top of a hill. Does that help? LOL
Yep the ding dong you talked to got you the cheapy NAPA joints. Not the better joints. We havent had spicer for a long time. That 280 number i gave you is Precision not spicer.

I just called Quadratec and they were like, Spicer dosn't make a 280 joint, it's 260. HAHA!
Long story short I need to know this. Should I go with Spicer or Precision? Which ones are stronger? I'm gonna order online and be done with it so I know I'm getting what I want.
So, Precision = 280 and Spicer = 260? Is that correct?
autocrap has percision u-joints. at least they did when i went and got them before tennessee. they had them in stock too which is amazing. still i'm not sure how i feel about telling you to go to autocrap cause they are on my bad list now cause they screwed me over twice within hours.

No arguement spicer is a good ujoint probably one of the better ones out there. Precision Superjoints are very good as well. Considering you have the stroker and maybe soon the Kenne bell might go with spicer.

adam IF your year calls for spicer 297x axle u-joints (however you might have 260x) then get spicer 760x instead. its the same size but >> strength. the 760's are for a 44 axle shaft but are the same dimensions as a 297 (dana 30) u joint. as for the d/s joints they should be 1310's. i believe that is a spicer number as well but not positive.

Uh... well I bought 3 u-joints today. They are in a NAPA box with the part # 215-0153, and below that number is the #280. I assume it is to tell someone it is compatable with the 280.
They TOLD me they carry a lifetime warranty, so I don't know. They are a greasable u-joint. I already have 2 of them installed, just waiting on the dang yoke to finish the driveshaft. It should be in tomorrow. For the average guy, I'm sure they are MORE than adequate. Guess I'll find out.
As far as the whole "Made in Japan" thing, that had meaning when I was a child, cheap junky trinkets and such. Today, "Made in Japan" doesn't necessarly mean junk. Ahem... Lexus, Toyota, Infinity, Sony, Honda, etc...
