LED Tail Lights

I know we've discussed this before, but I have some "different" questions.

I am in the process of maybe adding LED tail lights to my rig. However I do have a few questions.

As far as brightness goes. Is thier one style over the other that are "brighter"? I don't want something to bright driving down the road so it looks like my brake lights are on. I do want something though when I do press my brake lights that are bright? I stopped by tracker supply today and they have 2 different styles; one with a TON of small LED's and than one with just a few larger LED's. What style should I get?

I am also looking for a 2" white LED set to use as back up lights. Anyone know where to find them at? I am not having much luck.

Additionally I know I will probally have to run a trail light adapter to get them to function properly. By chance do anyone know what wire will go to what? I don't want to hack them all up. Should I try to find a set of used tail lights and pull the harness' out of them to make a "plug-in-play" adaptor? On that note, do anyone have a set of pre 97 tail lights laying around? I don't care if they are cracked.

And lastly; is thier a certain brand LED lights I should look for or avoid? I don't mind ordering online, I just want a quality set that will last me. I don't want to drop a lot into them as well as I may break one on the trail etc. What should I look for in a set? I am looking for the longer skinny one's Not the 4" round ones. Here is an idea of what I am doing..

Well I made mine with the 4" round standard lights and they are pretty bright.  If you have a semi shop around they will carry all the lights you will need.  And get out your wallet because those puppies are pricey.

And I here of people have trouble with there lights falshing weird because the system isnt used to running the low voltage and impeadance.  So maybe cheat run the light with the stock light and just let them lite up the box.

go to a truck stop(a really big one) they will have all kinda toys, and as for the flashing wierd, wire in a resistor, use an ohm meter, or multimeter to check what value you may need!

I bought the ones for my cj off ebay.  Just make sure what ever you buy is set up to run on a 12volt feed and you shouldn't have to screw with the resistor thing.  Mine have the resistors built into the taillight so all I had to do was splice into my wireing.
