You of little faith...
See you guys in the morning. Planning on being in the parking lot at 10. Probally won't have reception but you can try to call me if you'd like. Most of you have my cell #.
hey guys... sorry i didnt make it.. as i told adam this morning... i tried leaving.. but the storms were really bad by me, the rain wouldnt let up for me to even load all my gear, and when its raining that bad, the YJ is dangerous on the highway..and everyone that was supposed to go, backed out last min... i pissed about the whole thing, but oh well... def next run tho... hope everyone had fun
Here are some pictures from the first day. I had a good time. To bad I couldn't stay the night. It was nice to meet all of the people from here that I hadn't before. Hope you like them.
And this is the spot on the the trail where the first day pritty much ended... At least for a few people. If you notice, that is Adam getting first winched up the hill by Josh because his rear drive shaft broke, and then pulled up the hill by Joe because Josh's winch broke.
The first two videos are of Joe playing in the mud. The picure of me is to show all of the mud that was thrown on me as he drove past. My shorts are supposed to be white. Oh well, it was worth the video.
Here are a few more videos and some pictures of trying to pull pull Adam back to camp a few different ways: One person on each tow hook, and then forming a train too.
I broke my rear driveshaft at the TC yoke as well as the diff yoke. It wasn't a pleasent sight. Had to be winched up, than tried to drive back on just my front driveshaft. That proved to be a bit harder than expected as well; expecially in the dunes...
Carey also broke his center pin on his locker in pritty much the same spot as I broke. We removed the carrier, and axel shafts and he was able to get back to camp as well.
However his luck (or lack of) wasn't over yet. Ended up loosing the entire hub, broken the knuckel and all back at camp. Luckly they were not on the road, and we had the trailer right thier. Thanks to our Polish buds, we were able to get it onto the trailer.
The 2nd day proved to be just as exciting as the first. It started out slow, with the majority of the 1st days group already headed home. My XJ was fixed, but not in a position to wheel it some more. So Rebecca and I decided to wheel her XJ a little bit while we waited on some more people to show up. Here are some poser pics...
