GLXJ is hosting it's 2nd Annual Summer Wheeling Fest on Satruday August 11th and Sunday August 12th at Badlands Offroad Park in Attica Indiana.
ALL JEEPS ARE WELCOME!!!
Admission to Badlands Offroad Park for the 2 day event is $30 per person; or $20 for just 1 day. They just changed their hours; on Saturday you can now ride until 7:00PM, and then on Sunday you can ride untill 7:00PM. You can visit their website at http://www.badlandsoffroad.com
Flags ARE required; and can be purchased at the gate/office for $10. Also PLEASE have some sort of recovery (either front tow hooks, or rear hitch). Also please bring a tow strap (no hooks, looped both ends).
For those staying both days we will be camping at the campground by the entrance to the park. If you are planning on camping please let me know as I am going to try to reserve enough spots for everyone prior.
If you plan on attending please let me know for sure so I can get a head count. I will also note that this is open to GLXJ supporting members as well as non-supporting members. However there will be several giveaways at this event of items for supporting members only. The giveaways are well worth your member fees. Additionally, ANY JEEP's ARE ALLOWED TO WHEEL WITH US (even if not a XJ or MJ).
We are planning on meeting at the gate/staging area at 10:00 AM. We meet at the bottom of the hill, to your right.
This event is hosted by the kind folks at Rosem Design Studio (www.rosemdesign.com) as well as Motion Offroad (www.motionoffroad.com). The first 5 parties to show up with us will receive a FREE Motion Offroad decal while supplies last. Hope to see you there! Adam
I am making up some shirts for this event as well. They are available for $20 and must be purchased prior to the event if you want one. I will bring them the day of the event if paid for upfront. I will only be placing 1 order, so all orders need to be placed by August 1st. If you want one please reply to this post that you are going, with a t-shirt request and your size requested. I will then send you a PM with how to pay.
this sounds great, count us in again. I might make a suggestion this time, lets get a guide or someone that REALLY knows the place.
I agree 100%. I'm working on trying to get someone to tag along with me that knows the trails really well. I'll report back if I can get them to confirm to come.
I'd like to take Budget Manche.... but that requires finding someone with a truck I can borrow so I can trailer it. The hunt is on...
Greatlakesjeepthing.com will also be there that weekend for their summer bash. The way it looks there is going to be a lot of jeeps there. I am going to try and make but am not a 100% sure yet. Will let you guys know when it gets closer. Am looking for a lift right now cause i don't think my stock xj will be able to follow a lot of you guys.
Hey lead, i have got a truck but i am probably getting rid of it here soon. You can buy it if you want.

Not right away. I don't even know if I will have the 12th off. Right now I do know that I have the 11th off. When I get some vacation time built up we are going to go somewhere.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
Well... I know I've had to back out on the last couple of outings.... but I'll try to be there on the 11th. We are supposed to be getting in some new potato chip equipment at work sometime in August so I can't be absolutly sure.
Ethan and I we just at Badlands last Sat. on our quads. MAN was it HOT!
We'll see what we can do about the chips. They cracked down on us taking product out of the plant awhile back. Some people stole a bunch of stuff out of the warehouse last winter, and they told us "no more product taken home".
No search party needed, I'm still here just been VERY busy. I have to confess I am having a blast with the quads. May go to Haspin this weekend with them.
You should have seen all the Suzuki Samari's at Badlands last weekend. There were a couple of clubs there. They went from mild to WILD! They were everywhere.
Well count me in on going to the bash. The xj won't be lifted but it will be there in it's stock form. Which way is everyone taking? I have never been there before and don't know what is the best way to get there. If anybody wants to caravan down i live in warsaw and would follow somebody.
Also, for the $30 for the weekend, what all does that include. Does it include the camp site also or just for the park.
Thanks, Ben

Ben,
Several "stockers" have wheeled with us in the past. Just try to have some sort of recovery if you can (front tow hooks or a rear hitch) so if you do get stuck we can have a easier time getting you out.
The $30 gets you into the park for 2 days, or you can pay $20 and get a 1 day pass. I belive camping is $10, but you'd have to double check on that (visit badlands website, it's the campground right at the entrance).
You'll be required to buy a flag ($10) to get into the park. Last time we were there they had smaller one's for $7 that are not quite as tall and depending on how you mount it you could get away. Josh used a bike flag from WalMart, so you may want to look into that option as well. Take care of it and it should last you quite awhile and you won't incure that cost again in the future.
We'll probally be leaving from Columbia City, so your more than welcome to tag along with us on the way down. I am not sure what day we are leaving (friday night or sat morning), and it's going to depend on what we end up taking and if we trailer or drive, so PM me a little closer to the date and I'll let you know. We typically take 9 to 24 and head down that way...
PM or email if you have any other questions about directions.
