hey all.   i am curious if anyone knows anything about the factory Infinity Sound System???  mostly i want to know about the amplifier under the seat.  i have a 5 channel aftermarket amp and i am wondering if it's possible to remove the factory amp and upgrade it with mine.....??? any input or links would be appreciated.  thanks!!

I don't know anything about the factory system.

HOWEVER....

I would think that if you can determine what wire is doing what, the swap would be easy. You may have to get a signal invertor to convert a wired setup from the factory head unit to RCA for your signal input. The wires for the speakers would just be plug and play.

I'd also try to determine how many channels the factory amp has and replace it with something comprable.

Any reason your wanting to change it out?

yeah, i'm thinking the swap would be relatively straight forward, just gotta trace wires to figure out what each one is.  i just haven't looked into it much at all yet.  i wanna upgrade the amp cuz i know at least 2 of the speakers have been upgraded to aftermarket (i believe the 5.25 door speakers have been) and i wanna replace the rear sound bar speakers cuz they suck..... come on, you know me, i can't leave anything related to the sound system alone, i gotta make it better!  i'm really hoping to find the wiring diagram somewhere... that'd answer a lot of questions.

yeah i've been fishing around through that fsm too. i actually was mistaken earlier, all the speakers have been upgraded to Alpine 2-ways, but they sound bad because there is not nearly enough power pumping to the speakers.  sooooo, i definitely need to put my aftermarket head unit in and most likely change out the amp and it should sound pretty dang good once that's done.
