I finally found the time to fab up a mounting system for the HiLift jack I won here in a giveaway. I looked at Tomken's mount, and decided I just couldn't see spending $162 for a mount. Plus it had a gerrycan mount, and I didn't want that since it moved the spare tire too far away from the rear hatch, and the Jeep would not have fit in my garage. It's nothing special, but it's sturdy enough, and it cost me ziltch as I knew I had some steel laying around.
Well..... I WAS going to post up some pic's, but the kids have used up EVERY %@$*&^% AA battery in the house. Grrrrr! I'll get some up as soon as I can get some batteries.
Well I charged some up from my radios I use while hunting, and snapped a few. I also had to space the spare out 3", but had a mounting bracket I had made some time ago.
I still have to cut the upper support to length, and paint it. Government work...At work... you know. I have it bolted down right now, but will use wingnuts when I'm finished.
