There is a place in Ft. Wayne that will regear axles for you. I called them and they said that I would be anywhere between $600-1200 to do an axle. So if you are will to come to Ft. Wayne:
Pro Trux Truck Accessories 260-496-8789
I talked to Seth.

WAY to expensive!
JCR does them for $200/axle. Worth the drive to k-zoo to have it done.
Andy, talk with Topper on Jeepin IN. I know he does them and is good at it. Not sure what he charges but I can bet it's better than min. $600/axle.

Oh I wasn't calling them for me. I don't plan on doing this anytime soon. I just called them to see if they do actually do it because bmyohn was talking about going to Evansville to get this done. So I figured it might be a little closer and possibly cheaper in Ft. Wayne; give him another option.

thanks for all the options guys, ill look into them, JCR doesnt sound too bad i looked and its like 175 an axle out of the truck, so the drive may be worth it if i cant find anything
there's a little performance shop in bloomington, right off of curry pike and 37. Not sure of the name but they did some carb tuning work for me when i had my old 350/ 6 speed s-10 blazer. Seemed competent They have a nice shop and a dyno. I imagine a regear would be no problem.
i got a quote for a gear install at Extreme Performance in Elletsville, and they quoted me 450 for two axles(out from under the Jeep), and he said i could save some money by having the housings empty when he gets them
the quote is for the 4.88s and the OX locker install
does that sound reasonable??
he also said that for 90 bucks he can get me new bearings and seals
$250 an axle for gears is about right. At the time you should replace bearings and seals while your in thier as well. Buy them yourself and just have the installer do them for you.
If I remember right, I think I had $1000 total in doing my gears, installing lockers, and cost of everything. I had a local shop do it that we do a lot of business at work with, so they cut me a deal on labor.
