TC Skid plate

Ok, while at the Jeep Jamboree thing I stated that I want to start putting Armor on the Jeep.  I already have a metal gas tank skid and front skid that both came stock on the jeep.  The opinion of everyone at least that I heard was to get a TC skid first and foremost.  Rockrails are already in the works, so I am not forgetting about those.

I know most of the websites on the internet, and where to get some from, but my question is which are better than others.  I do have a 1" TC drop from rusty's so that will have to be factored into as well.  So everyone claims to have the best TC skid, but who actually does?  Or if you think that I should go a different route first before the TC skid, explain why.

Thanks for the help.

What TC do you have? That will determine what one's will work....

Do you have the 1" drop x-member from Rusty's? I do, and his TC skid bolted up fine to it.

Oh, I have the 242 TC.  Rusty's skids are $99 for the 242 or 231 TC.

i was deciding between the Warn and the Rusty's untill i found the DPG Offroad Skid, its reasonably priced and well designed...i did not use it because i am going with the TnT 5.5" kit with the y-link belly pan

Thats why I asked what TC he has.

The DPG will not work with a 242, and has issues on the 99-01 XJ's due to the cat. convertor.

Andy, I have a DPG belly skid new in box if you want to hold it up there and see if it fits. I bought it for the MJ and forgot that the frame rails are different. Guess it'll go on Rebecca's....

Sorry I forgot to post to this, I have the 231.  I do have a huge Cat. Converter though so I might have to do some Custom Deleting according to Adam to get the belly pan on.  I don't know yet.  Any further would help.   Thanks

With the DPG, why is it so much more expensive, $80 more?  Am I getting what I pay for?  What do they have to offer that Rusty's or one of the others doesn't.

I did some "custom deleting" myself yesterday on the Scorpio. So let me know when you want to do your Jeep, Andy. You know how killing cats really gets me going.
