Well i have a thud coming from the rear of the xj that sounds like something is banging into something else. I don't have to be moving to get the thud. If i bounce up and down on the rear bumper i can get it to do it. With that being said it makes me think that it is something in the rear suspension. I now that this is kinda of vague, but doesn't anybody have any idea of where i should start looking at to fix this. I want to get everything ready and finished on it so i can make it to haspin for the Winter Fest.
Thanks, Ben

Possibly a broken leaf spring or center pin or shackle? Any of those need ruled out & fixed asap if that is your problem. I have to assume your (new) shocks are still attached to their upper mounts & your u-bolts are tight.
Well i know that on the front leaf spring mount, the part of the leaf that wraps around the bolt and almost touches the spring, broke off a little chunk of it. Just found it today. Do you think that that could be where my noise is coming from?
Also i am running the stock shackle in the rear. Will check the bushings in it also.

Why don't you get someone to jump on the bump, or what ever makes the noise, and then you crawl under there and chaise the noise down? Thats what I would do. Then you would have a better idea of where it is coming from exactly.
