2wd to 4x4 ?	Permalink

how hard is it to convert 2wd to 4x4 on MJ. I may be able to get unfinished project wit clean stort bed body for under a grand. current onwer has all parts d30 axel ,auto trans, t-case,and lift all not installed. Guess he lost intrest. Looking to get into a trail only project and dont care if it takes me years to finish. Hmm.. wonder if this is the same one I'm thinking of.

I did it on my last MJ, but also did a motor swap at the same time.

It's a straight forward swap. You'll have to address the driveshaft as they are all different lengths. Also the MJ never came with a NP242 (thats what I put in) so the cross-member is kinda fun figuring that out if thats what your putting in.

Other than that, it's actually not to hard to do.

easier than you might think. very straight forward, your rear driveshaft will need to be shortened like i did, or you will have to get a 4wd shaft. __________________

The truck is in Waterford MI and it dose not have a t-case my bad. The frt axel is already installed, smashed frt grill and pass fender. __________________ 99 sport. rust bucket, DD, 3 car seats 04 wj (w/3 car seats too) DD duty for the lady
