My rear output seal on the tcase was slowly leaking. I finally got around to replacing it and then it started gushing! I read on NAXJA that it has taken some people 3-4 seals before the leak stops. I put another one in (another $16 from the stealership) and this was not as bad but there is still a 10 inch puddle overnight. This will not do.
Thoughts?. What else can cause the tcase to leak around the yoke? The yoke itself isn't scratched or scored. I don't want to keep buying seals if it's not gonna maike a difference.
Man that sucks, I don't know what to say. Is the instalation something that you could hurt the seal? I have never heard this before, but you I think are the first one that I have heard doing this to.

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.
Make sure the seal is well lubed ( seal itself, seat in case, and also yoke) use new fluid for this.
Dont use anything metal to install seal( hammer, screwdriver,drift......) Use a rubber mallet or 3/4 x 3/4 piece of wood. Strike only outside edge of seal.
Just some thoughts. If you have done all of above, good luck till you get it.

That's what I was afraid of. I read somewhere to check the vent tube to see if it was clogged. It wasn't so I have to put yet another seal in. I just need to go buy a box of em, I guess.
Put in a 3rd one, still leaking. Went to dealer to diagnose - needs new bearing that goes around the output shaft. Recommended replacing whole cone on rear of tcase - part only about $57! I'm happy with that. Of course, it's more with labor, but mom actually offered to pay for this because it was her boyfriend that helped me replace the first seal which then started pouring out. I guess her guilt worked out for me here.
Moral? If you replace the seal and it still leaks, you probably shouldn't blame the seal.
