I was trying to make a write up on front sway bar disconnects. I have got all the materials and have everything planned out but I have run into a problem. I cannot get the bolt, that is pressed into where the swaybar mounts to the frame, out. I have not tried to much to get it out. I have sprayed it with liquid wrench and have bought the correct size Torx and have tried twisting it out. I tried the back up plan of getting a big hammer and beating on it. I did not hit it to much, just because I did not want to break it. So here is a pic of the part that I need to get out.
Does anyone have any hints as to how I can get this part out easily or do I just have to work at it more?

Heh, I was swinging on mine with a pipe wrench + four foot cheater bar before I found out it was splined. A hammer will work, but it also may bend the axle mount if you bang it too hard. I found that a medium sized pipe wrench on the head of it twisted back and forth a few times will loosen the splines up a little bit, and then you can whack it out easier. Good luck.
Ok, thanks. I don't have a pipe wrench or anything like that, BUT I do have a pulley puller thing that I just picked up!!! I just completely forgot about it because it is stored in a box in the garage. Man I can't wait till I am out of the Apt. and into the new house to get all the tools organized.
Thanks I will include this step in my writeup so that others don't have the same problem.

Well I got them out. I ended up cutting them off with about an inch left. Then I took a drill and drilled them out from the Torx head side until I was about half way through. Then just hit it with a hammer 4-5 times and they popped out.

I wouldn't weld them if it was me. A good 80% of aftermarket swaybar disco's require you to remove them. As long as the head of the bolt is still good and you've got a washer/nut on the other side it's not going anywhere. Really no point in welding them if you ask me; as if you need to remove them later you'll be regreting that you did weld them.
