RE: Jeep XJ/MJ Concepts

I would like to see how the Africana was supported or reinforced.  They took most of the front roof off and all of the back hatch.  I realise that the two red bars coming down the back help, it would just be interesting to see what steps they took building it.   I would also like to see how that hatch was made.

Overall awsome looking car.  I love the hacked XJ's in the rear like Comanche Devil's.

Who knows, maybe some day my XJ will loose the hatch... biggrin

You do know that god kills a kitten every time someone calls a Jeep a car, right?

I know our Jeeps are susposed to have square headlights.... but I REALLY like the headlight setup on the Casablanca! biggrin

do they have a chrysler part number? Anyway, this is what the liberty should have been!

that red mj... the tire makes it look like one of those baja trucks, but please please please dump the body kit!

I wish they had XJs with a roof like the JK unlimited....

i absolutely love the Africana!!!!!

for those of you who are now inspired to make their own: notice MJ tailgate.

for those of you with good MJ tailgates: they just doubled in value, lol.

I like that convertible top kit for XJs mentioned in JP magazine a few months ago though, seems pretty simple to install.  I just don't like the idea of a full cage, so if there were a way to leave the factory roof bracing in place, but just peel the sheetmetal back and have the finished product look like it could have come from the factory, or maybe install a brace tube (a chunk of rollbar) across the Jeep at the B pillars and C pillars?

HOLLY CRAP!!!!!!!
I wish I seen this page sooner I would of ditched the rear section with the solid tonnu cover and made a removable soft top like the Africana.
Allthough maybe next year if I like how this Jeep works out I could do the right modifcations to repulcate this concept.
Crap I wish I'd seen this sooner, I like, man do I like.

Here is a pic of Brian's from Ohio's XJ that's been chopped. He has a rag-top on the rear very similar to the Africiana above that he made.

More pics of his rig in the 2006 Spring Fling photo gallery on the website; http://www.greatlakesxj.com/photos.html.

That is a neat looking one too. One thing I noticed is that the tires are awfully close to fenders.  It doesn't look like there is much travel room in there.
