If your scared dont do it. I was on the fence also and kinda regret it now. Dont get me wrong they do help a little, but they look goofy. Maybe its just the vent I used.
P.S. anyone got an extra hood lying around:) or maybe I should just try the lebarron ones. This is the first thing I dont love on my rig that I've done.

i have the LeBaron vents and i definetly love them. just my hood is so shiny...lol but im not really scared, i just havent had time to sit down and take my time doing it. i wanna do a good job the first time i just need some more time to think it through
Only thing I'm worried about is the sensors underneath it with the snow and rain etc... what about putting black aluminum screen under it to keep the whatever out... though I guess it wouldn't really help though because it would just melt the snow and the rain would go right through.

Anyone have any probs with em?
If your worried about it cover everything in de-electric grease.
I've also heard of guys who let thier Jeeps sit for a longer period of time simply putting cardboard on top of their engine under the hood. Just remember to pull it prior to starting your Jeep the next time.
Honestly I've been running hood vents for a few years and have never had an issue to date with water under the hood. I'm running the LeBarron one's....
I have never seen those mounted. Do you have any pics of them mounted on the hood?
I don't have any pics of it installed. I'd be more than happy to trade for lebaron vents. The Daytona vent being wider will go over the crease in the center of the hood. In a black or dark XJ it wouldn't be too noticeable, but with my white XJ I think the gap where the hood crease is would be really noticeable with shadows and such. Not that I intend to have a show Jeep , but I like good fit and finish on something I drive on the road.
