Power Steering Pump

So this past spring, I thought that my power steering pump was making a lot of noise so I replaced it with a new one.  Turns out it was the airconditioning.... hmm.  Got a pump from AutoZone....  You all know where this is going.

So now the pump only works when it wants to.  It also leaks like crazy from the where the resivor conects to the pump.

Also the omniscient designers for Jeep made the pulley out of plastic.  It was all I could do the first time to get the thing off the old pump and on to the new one without COMPLETELY breaking it.  It will not make it to the next pump.

So:
1.  Should I take the pump back to China Boat Express and try to get a new one?  Is there even a waranty that would allow that.  This XJ is not even a daily driver.  I have maybe changed the oil maybe one time since putting this on.
2.  Should I go a different route with a better pump?
3.  Any suggestions on a different pump?
4.  Suggestions on what to do with the pulley, or how to get a new one, prefferably metal?

As far as the warranty goes; it's going to depend on what brand you went with. I belive if they've got a warranty on them AutoZone ask's you for your phone number upon checkout. Do you remember giving them that when you paid for it? Do you have your receipt; it should say on that as well.

I had major issues with my PS pump on my XJ. It started off by blowing the res. cap's just driving down the highway. After loosing about 5 of them (At $20 a pop) I finally attached a chain to it so when it blew I wouldn't loose the cap. The pump finally went out and was replaced with another I had off one of my old MJ's. That one lasted about 2 months. I than bought a new one from AutoZone and like yours, it lasted about 3 months. I got one that didn't have a warranty so I was screwed.

I had gotten tired of changing pumps out, and having to deal with it so I sucked it up and got a AGR setup. Yeah kinda costly compaired to stock; but I have not had a single issue yet with it again.

I've got the the pump and the new super box 2; however the box for you probally wouldn't be needed. You do have to use your existing pully as well as the resivour.

On that note, I know I have one of the old trashed pumps laying around. I'm 95% sure it's got a metal pully on it as well as a good resivour.

Thank you for offer on the parts.  I know that I won't be able to use the pulley.  I only assume that I won't be able to us the resivour since it is leaking from that area.
