Chrysler 8.25" Carrier Bearing Replacement

Anyone ever replaced the carrier bearing on the Chrysler 8.25"? I think we've got a bad bearing and I'm 90% sure it's one of the carrier bearings.

Anyone know what's involved to change one out? I think it's got some pre-load on it; is this true? Do I have to change the races out on the axle tubes as well with just simply putting a new bearing on the carrier (I really don't want to have to buy the special tool to do so)? I've got the press to press them on, just want to know what's involved in doing it.

Also, it's got a track-lock in it and for the life of me I can't get the center pin out. I pulled the set screw but the center pin does not seem to want to fall out. Any tips for getting it out so I can get the c-clips off and pull the shafts?

Once I've got the carrier out do I need to do anything special to put it back in? This is what I'm most worried about...

ANY HELP is appricitive. I'm trying to decide if I want to tear it all apart or just buy a new axle instead...
