How Steep?

My buddy's mom has a rather large hill behind her house with some nice land on the bottom... problem is the hill is really steep (to me at least.)

Here's how the story goes, we go down the hill and it seems like a sort of steep descent. At the time I went down I didn't really realize how soft the sand was, but it had been torn up by his mom's boyfriend's quads. We get down to the bottom and you have to cross a small creek... well the dropoff looked like if I tried it, I'd be rubbing diff's so I decided scratch it, we'll go back...

This is where the fun begins... the bottom of the hill is fine, nothing too steep, but then when you get to the steeper part it's sorta rutted out and soft from the quads as previously mentioned. Well, there was a lot of wheel slipping because it felt really steep and I didn't really feel like getting a running start because I'm not really sure on how far the XJ will go vertical before flipping over backwards (or forward for that matter.) biggrin

So the question is... how can you... uh... tell, I guess?

Also, on a related note, I wish I had this guy's balls, but not his brains.

Oh, and I got out by going up another trail that led to his neighbor's back yard in case you were wondering.

Heh, yeah that's pretty steep there. I guess the only way really is to just do it more to get used to it... in hopes that I don't get "too" used to it.

Also, what kind of vents did that guy have on that red XJ?

Seeing them up close, I don't think I'd put them on my XJ.

Like you said though, to each his own.

I don't think that I would do them to my XJ, but I think that they look really good on his XJ.

Looks like home plate, I'm not a fan of the asthetics, but it might be better at venting excess heat than lebaron vents or hood spacers.
