Some odd sounds/behavior...

Start up the XJ, back out and start going down the road... past about 5 mph it sounds like some motor or pump is running. I stop, shut it off, turn it back on, go and it doesn't do it again? What could this be?

A few miles later when I was merging on the highway it started acting funny, around 45 MPH, it would act as if I had completely let off the gas and then got back on... did this for a few seconds.

Last thing, there's a hissing type sound when I hit the brakes. The harder I press the louder it gets.

Help me out guys =)

1) E-Fan kicking on.

2) Check your TPS. Look in the tech section on the homepage on how to check it.

3) Check for a vacume leak under the hood with the brakes pressed.

1) Hmm, fans never kicked on at a cold start before... weird.

2) I don't have a voltmeter. Will have to pick one up.

3) Any common places where a vac leak may occur?
