To all people running a 3" lift on a Comanche: What shocks are you running in the rear?
And to all people running a 4.5" lift on a Comanche or Cherokee: What shocks are you running up front?
If possible, I'm not only looking for the brand, but also model number. Or what stock application the shock is supposed to be for. I'm trying to find out what will work, like a stock 95 Dakota rear brake hose being 7.75" longer than a Cherokee one with the same (correct) ends.
Unfortantly these are just part numbers of shocks that will technically fit and have the correct eye ends. What is NOT factored in is what the shock was originally designed for. For instance one of them that is the correct length for your application may be for a Ford F250. They are valved for a different application and will ride like crap.
I personally would buy a set of shocks that are valved for your application, as it will make the world of difference. You also didn't mention what you'll be using your Jeep for. If it's offroading or daily driving, or a combo of both. You also don't want your shocks to be your bumpstops, so you need to make sure that they have enough travel in them so you don't damage them while offroading and cycling your suspension.
I just recently bought a set of Motion's LTS (long travel series) MJ shocks. Havn't gotten them installed yet as I've been busy doing other projects but I like the fact that they have built in bumpstops and that they are long travel.
They also have several other options for the MJ's;
