I'm needing a set of the metal brackets that mount the front swaybar bushings to the frame. I've tried the poly bushings and IMO they are junk. They wear out too fast so I'm going back to the factory rubber bushings. Like a dummy, I threw the factory brackets away.
Not sure of the diameter of the 2000 swaybar, but I think it is the thicker one so I don't know if just any year brackets will work. Someone with more knowledge chime in here.
I might have mine, Ill look and see if i have them, I thought i saw them in the garage a week ago, But im not sure, Ill look tommorow, Cant promise anything
I looked where i stash all of my spare parts, Sorry, I dont see them, Would it be easy to get a set from a scrap yard. Dang thing is i think there is several different size's.
The factory XJ swaybar came in 6 different sizes from the factory. We've tried to figure it out, but we've yet to associate a size to a year/model. The only one we know for sure is the Up-Country package.
Your best bet is to take a metric wrench to it and see what size it is. Find the smallest wrench that fits it snuggly.
I'm not sure why your having issues with poly bushings. You are greasing them prior to install correct?
Yes I've greased them twice since mounting them up. The hole in the bushing is worn so large I can move the swaybar side to side. The bushing is worn WAY larger than the swaybar diameter. They now squeak, and groan and it's driving me crazy.
