I think I read somewhere about a dodge dakota or a mustang (!) tb swap onto a Jeep 4.0. Overkill on anything mostly stock/mild build stroker. Would be good on a race type Jeep though.
..and I'll agree (strongly!) with dogwonk on that we're interested in this.
edit: does MOR have any of those SCCA sway bars left? I dunno, but it might be good to run those at high speeds, considering that out on the flats you might not be going exactly straight due to surface irregularities or whatnot. I'd look into this more as the build nears completion to look into high speed stability and any potential issues associated with it.

Handling will be important, but the salt is reasonablly flat, and they do groom the surface. The thuck will be lowered 6" or so. We are going to cut the "C" pieces off the end of the axle, then take C pieces woth about 6" of tube attached from another axle and weld them on top of the existing axle, this should give about a 4" drop and not change the suspension geometry at all.
For the rear suspension we will be using 2 arms, similar to 60's chevy truck or Nascar style supension. We will replace the coil springs with Air Bags
